Design a future-oriented settlement that safeguards and builds on the coastal and natural qualities found on Nesodden. A center that accommodates a diversity of people, lifestyles and activities and that attracts residents and jobs both today and in the coming century. A hub for local and regional interaction, with viable connecting lines in the immediate area and to the larger region and Oslo in particular.

The municipality has the following objectives for the development of the town centre; - The Tangen as the municipality's central meeting place, administrative, cultural, trade and service center of gravity, - centered around the Tangenten municipal hall, and surrounding schools, nurseries and shopping facilities. Strengthened local employment and business activities - Future-oriented urban structure - adapted to walking, cycling and public transport and new technological developments for transport and the labor market - Densification that safeguards green areas, and enhances access to the coast and cultural landscape. -Green connections for play, recreation, storm water management, biodiversity and pollinating insects. - Varied housing offer with different degrees of community solutions in the city center - Opportunities for joint use and multi-use that can create life in the city center outside of working and school hours
